Finals Week!!

So Finals week has finally arrived. I join oh so many when I saw that Im never ready for it. Long long nights followed by practices stress and frustration are never a pleasant combo. But with all that said I am basically done. All my major stuff is done and turned in now I just have to do some little tiny projects and I will be free for a whole month!!! So nice to not have to worry about anything. I will finally be able to get caught up on all my pictures for Kristina's wedding, get the CD made and send it on it's way. The only problem with finals being over is now the actual hard practices that Kristin has been saving up start to come out. Then again that also means I am that much closer to taking a little team vacation in California. Let's hope for sunshine the whole time =-) As much as I love the summer though I sure wish Boise would get some snow everything is just so so ugly outside. I figure if winter is going to be cold it might as well be pretty. Oh well all I have to do is finish this week make it through the weekend, Monday and Tuesday morning and then it's homeward bound. It will be nice to see family other than Doug again. Unfortunately only 3 days after being home i will be getting my wisdom teeth out but they will finally be gone. Well if anyone even reads this blog no one really cares about any of that so back to the point of this post. My final project for Photo 444 i used an underwater film camera to capture the power of a swimmer and the fight between water and body. So here are the pictures hope you like them  =)

I'ts been almost a year. . .

So bad of me to seriously wait almost a year to post something. . . I really have to work on finishing things that I start. I think I still have the post I was halfway through when I quit. Well, here are some pictures I did in September that I have been editing these past couple of weeks. Tell me what you think :-) Oh and a special thanks to Belinda Nowatzke for growing these beautiful flowers!!!
I think this may be one of my favorites. . . I really love black and white photos

Playing around with a little texture
Brown tint added to black and white :-)

First Film Project Ever

Okay so i showed some pictures yesterday. The first one was from my first film project with the theme Light and Shadows. This project really helped me figure out how to run my camera. I have only ever used digital cameras and truthfully i had not the slightest clue how to even load the film into the camera. After ruining a roll of film i finally figured it out. There was art in the park that weekend so Jenny and I decided to go there and look around and i could get random pictures along the way.
It was a lot of fun. There was lots of things to look at and some pretty sweet shadows happening. The picture of the bolt was a lot of fun. We were standing at the cross walk and right when the walk signal went i looked down at the street light and saw the huge bolt and the shadow the sun was creating. I set the shutter speed and aperture as fast as i could took the picture and ran across the street as the light changed. It was by far my favorite picture from the batch. Some of my other favorites are below.

This is the Friendship bridge. We crossed over it to get to
the park. I really liked the lines that were captured in the
image.

This is a park bench. . . obviously. I was sad that i lost the
detail in the highlight of the sun on the bench. I think it
would have looked so much more interesting.
Before i got to the bench we passed through the rose garden.
The shadows on the roses and the light passing through the
petals. It doesn't show light and shadow that well but i still
love this picture
I got back home and had some film left I
loved the shadows that the the blinds
and the back of the chair created. Again
I wish i hadn't lost the detail of the
cushion in the highlight.

Getting Started

Okay so my sister and brother. . . also family have a blog. My sister has sorta talked me into making a blog that basically consists of my pictures. I don't know how long this will last but im hoping for a long time... As of right now I'm really excited to get started. Im currently a Photography major at Boise State learning new things every day. I have taken one black and white film class and I am currently enrolled in anther b & w film class along with a digital class.
In high school i did a senior project on digital photography and began playing around with photoshop. I have totally fallen in love with photography, photoshop, and how i look at the world now. I never would have thought that taken photography classes, along with other art classes, would really change how i see things.
Well this hasn't consisted of much order but hopefully as time goes i will become better and my posts will be more interesting.
These are some of my  pictures that i took in my first film class:

The quality on them really aren't too great because the have been scanned to my computer but I will expand more on these projects and add pictures later! =)
